We had a car dropped off last evening in which milk had spilled three days earlier. The owner had tried the usual Febreeze, baking soda and soap and water all to no avail, well she finally decided to hand the job over to a professional. As soon as she got here I jumped on working on the car knowing that I was already behind the eight ball, I brought out the upholstery extractor and started the process of cleaning. Once I thought I had cleaned the contaminated area enough I placed an industrial fan inside the car to accelerate the drying process hoping to return this morning to continue the process and was I surprised when I opened the door this morning, the office was stink the bay reeked from this milk neighbors were coming over asking what was the cause of the odor and enquiring whether or not I could resolve this issue. So I got busy at it and removed the bolts from the driver's seat to gain greater access to the carpet beneath the seat I then discovered that milk had made its way between the slit in the carpet and had permeated the padding beneath the carpet. Unfortunately this padding was not designed to be cleaned hence at 4145 miles this car is going to need a carpet.
